THE VISIT

Members spent two weeks in Hong Kong which provided, them sufficient time to become acclimatised and to establish the necessary background for considering the course. programme included:-

(1) Introductory meeting with staff from the

Education Department.

The

1 1/2 days at the Polytechnic during which members saw the specialist and general facilities and spent much time talking with staff individually and in groups after a plenary session with the Director.

1 1/2 days at the Baptist College during which members saw the specialist and general facilities and met staff after a plenary introductory session with the senior staff.

Some members were involved on two separate days on the assessment of the Baptist College as an institution.

A meeting with representatives of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.

(vi) 1/2 day at the Baptist College discussing the courses in detail and meeting students.

(vii) 1/2 day at the Polytechnic discussing the

courses in detail and meeting students.

(viii) Some members met the Chairman of the ICE

Advisory Committee in Hong Kong

(ix)

Various other meetings of members on their own or with Department of Education officials were held.

(x) Some members poaid an informal visit to the Hong

Kong University Civil Engineering department.

The agreement between CNAA and the Department of Education allowed for the appointment of a Hong Kong member to the investigating team. The CNAA members have welcomed this concept and in particular the experience of Hong Kong industrial and commercial expertise introduced to the group's consideration by the presence of Mr M T Geoffrey Yeh.
