THE KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1981
(No. 21 of 1981)
The principal purpose of this Ordinance is to provide the general manager of the Kowloon-Canton Railway with the additional powers he requires for the operation of a through train service between Hlòng Kong and The People's Republic of China and to validate previous actions of the general manager in this regard.
2. Section 2 ampowere the general manager to make regulations for the purpose of controlling access to certain areas of the railway.
3. Section 3 gives the general manager authority to establish a through train service to China and to settle details regarding its operation, subject to any directions that may be given to him by the Governor. ▲n the through train service is of an international nature, the general provisions of the principal Ürdinance and its subsidiary legislation are only to apply to the extent they are not inconsistent with any agreement made with the Chinese authorities.
4. Section 4 validates previous actions of the general manager in concluding arrangements for a through train service to China,
5. Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attomey General advised that he could properly do so.
