Is the UK Government prepared, as Sir Lawrance Kadoorie has stated, "put together and present an attractive technical, financial resource package"?
Should HMG or GEC take the initiative at this stage?
What discussions do GEC foresee taking place with Framatome following the conclusion of any Agreement? What is the timescale for such discussions?
Is a pre-emptive offer envisaged, are GEC waiting for international tender, what is their strategy?
What is the Government's strategy? HM Ambassador, Paris, recommended that we should create doubt in the French mind, that the Embassy should drop remarks about the importance of the Hong Kong connection being recognised in Peking and for there to be follow-up discussions with Esper at a later stage. We do not know what action has been taken in Paris or in Peking or Hong Kong and we have not contacted Esper.
On safety issues, the Governor has yet to respond advising us on how he wants to play this and on any future role for UKAEA.
On fuel, BNFL are having discusions with Westinghouse this week. Framatone or Cogema is unknown.
Any action with
