the following is this office's translation of the french decision to introduce a q.r. on hong kong watches.

2. *notice to importers of certain watch items originating in and coming from hong kong.

'in follow-up to the notice to importers of products originating in and coming from all the above mentioned countries which partially abrogated the provisions of the notice to importers published in the official journal of June 30, 1962 (p. 6375), importers of watch products in mimexe positions 91.01-15, 21 and 25, originating in hong kong, are informed that the following detailed provisions are being brought into application :

1. import Licences (ac type) relating to the above mentioned products which are still valid at the time of publication of this notice will have to be revalidated for any amounts not yet utilised. to this end importers are invited to submit an application for revalidation along with the green copy of the partially used import document as well as any document providing proof that their order has been accepted by their supplier to the direction des industries metallurgiques, mecaniques et electriques (23, avenue franklin roosevelt, 75008 paris) before november 1, 1981.

'products for which orders have been accepted prior to the publication date of the present notice will not be deducted from the quota hereinafter,

'11. a quota of 5,500,000 units applicable to the last quarter of 1981 and the year 1982 is opened for importers of watch products in nimexe headings 91,01-15, 21 and 25 originating in hong kong,

'this quota will be distributed in two segments and will be subject to the procedure for simultaneous review in accordance with the following procedures ;

1. first segment :

'applications for import Licences should be made on ac forms and be backed by a pro forma invoice in duplicate and drawn up in or translated into french with specific mention of the reference of the product, the trade mark shown on or to be shown on the product, the unit price and the origin of the main components.

'these applications should be submitted to the direction generale des douanes et droits indirects (service des autorisations financieres et commerciales, 42, rue de clichy, paris) between november 1 and november 30, 19al

'as applications currently pending will have to be complied with in context of the current quota and in accordance with the same procedures, importere whose application do not include the data required above are invited to complete their applications by sending the necessary documents to dimme, 23 avenue franklin roosevelt, 75008 paris, in the course of november 1981.

in any event, importers with applications pending on the date of publication of the current notice should supply the dimme by the same date with all the documents proving that acceptance of their order by their supplier antedates the publication date of this present notice.
