Meeting with Governor: (Brief 10)
9 C & W issues are priority for discussion (see para 3). However, Governor will
expect discussions to range over whole visit. Useful opportunity for you to give Governor preliminary view of what more UK firms can be dơng in Colony and how he would
see trade developing. Important to refer to continued need for UK firms to become
more involved in major projects. Express disappointment that we are not doing as well
as we might in construction area. Hope that Forthcoming visit of Mr John Stanley (Minister of Housing and Construction) will provide opportunity to assess prospects.
Governor's Lunch
No speech required. However, you may be expected to say something of your impressions. You might draw on Brief 5 for basic material (guest list available on arrival).
