We have been doing some research in an attempt to establish a precise figure for China's earnings from Hong Kong. The only conclusion we have been able to draw is that it is impossible to be precise. I believe that the FCO economists have done some work on this subject. I should be most grateful if you could send me copies of any material they have

produced.
