housing estates and a petition to the District Office Tsuen Mun by the Tsuen Mun Joint Committee Against Bus Fare Increases. For
the future, CABFI has stated its intention to visit the Chief Secretary and the Chairman of the Transport Advisory Committee to
discuss the issue and to write to Members of Parliament in the UK.

The Association for Democracy in Hong Kong Ltd., (ADHK) held its inaugural ceremony on 31st March, 1981. Those attending included
two Members of Parliament, Mr. Robert PARRY and Mr. Denis CANAVAN. ADHK has been virtually inactive since it was legally incorporated as a limited company in May 1980.

Representatives of the ad hoc Sai Tau Village Clearance Joint Committee held a press conference in which they claimed they had been
given insufficient notice of the clearance (scheduled to start on 30th
July, 1981) and that compensation offered was inadequate. Ten committee representatives subsequently visited the Hong Kong Office of the New China News Agency (NCNA) to determine whether Sai Tau,
which borders the South West of Kowloon Walled City, falls within the
ambit of the Walled City and is therefore 'entitled' to protection from Peking. The NCNA's response is not known.

A total of 4,397 legal immigrants arrived from China without onward entry visas giving a daily average of 147.

A total of 1,174 (a daily average of 39) illegal immigrants were arrested as compared with 981 (32) in March. Sea crossers from the northeast comprised the majority of illegal immigrants arrested so far this month. These figures do not include 335 boat arrivals
