(para 27 January 1981 Report), though CHAU claims that his
funds come from individuals opposed to the communist cause.

Eighteen supporters from Hong Kong attended the 12th
National Congress of the KMT which started in Taipei at the
end of the month.
PRESSURE GROUPS

The Coalition Against Bus Fare Increases (CABFI) has
announced its continuing opposition to bus fare increases
and petitioned the Governor accordingly.
It claims credit
for delaying implementation of the proposed increases and is pressing for improved bus services before any increases are
implemented. One of the local communist newspapers, Tin Fung Daily News, has criticised the Transport Advisory Committee's endorsement of the bus company's application for higher fares
on the grounds that the application was unreasonable and the
decision too hasty,
