Our "square boundary" of the waters surrounding Hong Kong follows the map attached to the 1898 Convention of Peking except that we do not mark a boundary along the shore of the Chinese side of Deep and Mirs Bays. For names we use romanized Cantonese or English.

You will doubtless be replying to Washington after consulting the mapping experts in London. I assume the reply will say that, where Hong Kong is concerned, we hope National Geographic will follow British mapping practice in both boundary and names.
