Sir H Cortazzi has indicated that preference is that the LPS visits Tokyo at the end of the period ie 13, 14, 15 January. The Embassy in Seoul is to be inspected from 11-29 January. Ideally therefore we should take Seoul in the first week, but this may not be the most satisfactory logistically.

If the LPS is to travel by a British airline this limits the options. The only British airline flying to Seoul is Cathay Pacific, but an alternative is British Airways to Tokyo and Korean Air Lines on to Seoul. There is only one day a week, Wednesday, when BA flies to Peking. There are daily flights by British airlines to Hong Kong. Tokyo is well served.
