UK Entry Visa Requirements for Hong Kong Belongers
Members feel strongly that the Home Office should extend the period of validity of multiple visit entry certificates to the UK for Hong Kong residents and consider that multiple visit entry certificates, valid for at least four years, should be available to Hong Kong businessmen. The UK Government's present cautious attitude in this regard influences other Governments to discriminate against visiting Hong Kong Longer term entry certificates need not affect a Hong Kong visitor's period of stay in the United Kingdom as this can still be limited upon entry by the UK immigration authorities.

As you will see, Members are primarily concerned about the social and economic advantages which Macau may derive from Portugal's admission to the EEC, if and when Portugal is admitted. The second point is simply our long- standing grumble about the Home Office's cautious attitude towards extending the term of multiple visit entry certi- ficates for Hong Kong businessmen and belongers.
