1. I should record,in case you have not already heard from some other source, that General Sir John Hackett is leaving London tomorrow on visits to Hong Kong and to Manila.

2. Sir John Hackett will be in Hong Kong until 10 February under the auspices of the World Business Council. He tells me that he is already in touch with both the Governor and Major-General Chapple. General Hackett will then be in Manila for five days as a guest of the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Philippines.
