The Embassy of the People's Republic of China presents its compliments to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and has to inform them with deepest grief that Madame Soong Ching Ling, Honorary President of the People's Republic of China and Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, died of chronic lymphocytic leukemia in Beijing at 20:18 hours on May 29, 1981, at the age of 90.

A book of condolence with be open for signatarre at the Chinese Embassy at 31 Portland Place, London WI, on Tuesday, the 2nd, Wednesday, the 3rd and Thursday the 4th of June, 1981 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Chinese Embassy avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office the assurances of its highest consideration.
