To involve and widen public participation in district affairs.

To mobilize community support for and involve the community in public or social campaigns promoted by the Government

(e) DMCs in all eight NT districts formed-

time-schedule of DB and DMC meetings 1981-82 being drawn up.

(f) Conversion of DABS into DBs further

Sub-Committees of DBS being formed.

(g) Resources for DBs and DMCs accommoda-

tion (Conference Room for holding DB meetings, staff accommodation and accommodation for unofficial members during and outside office hours), simultaneous interpretation services and facilities, allowance for unofficial members, etc. being worked out.

Membership has been reviewed and recommenda- tions for appointment will be made once vetting results are known.

(a) KHKC Campaign No. 2

The N.T. Advisory Committee has held a series of meetings and come up with tentative proposals. Pending Chief Secretary's Steering Committee's endorsement in principle, these ideas would be channelled to various committees, Action Groups and depart- ments for follow-up action.

(b) Fight Crime Campaign

Community involvement activities organized.

(e) A time-schedule of DMC meetings 1981-82 to be finalized. Terms of reference to be discussed and working procedures to be established in consultation with departments.

(f) All new Sub-Committees of DBs to be

formed and working procedures established.

(g) Request for special allocation to

employ TCOs during registration period, additional accommodation and simultaneous interpretation facilities and services to be submitted to FB for urgent consideration.

To service the N.T. Advisory Committee and certain of its Action Groups. Intensive operations to commence in October 1981 but considerable preparation work is required in the New Territories.

To continue to monitor district community involvement activities.
