contesting his seat again. His appointment to Legislative Council is mainly regarded as a link between the Urban Council and Legislative Council.

Mr. Hu is highly respected by the local Kiangsu and Chekiang community and traditional Chinese academics which gave him the support for election into Urban Council. A "nature's gentleman", he is known for his sympathy towards the under- privileged and humanity shown to people coming to seek his help. Not an articulate nor effective leader, he is more widely known for his kindliness genuineness, his interest in the welfare of the underdog than his performance at boards and committees.

His interest is hiking.
