Current Chairman of Clothing Industrial Training Boards, Hong Kong Training Council, Clothing Industrial Training Authority and member of Textile Advisory Board and Board of Education. Chairman of the Extra-Mural Studies Advisory Board, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Mr. Tien is noted for his views on, and respected for his contribution in, the garment manufacturing field and his concern on the competitiveness of Hong Kong products in the overseas markets. He is generally not very eloquent but can be very persistent. He is quite popular among the Shanghai industrialists.
His interests are table tennis, hiking and horse-racing.
