Attention:
Mr. Wilfred Tsui
Dear Sir,
June 26, 1980
EXTENSION OF WELFARE CLASS REVIEW TO THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR
HONG KONC SOCIAL WORKERS' GENERAL UNION
Thank you for your letter of June 23, 1980 suggesting that our Working Group should meet with representatives of the Hong Kong Social Workers' General Union and to hear their views on the Welfare Class Review. You will no doubt recall that when you informed me verbally the other day over the phone of this suggestion, I explained to you that I have to consult my Working Group which has scheduled to meet on July 7, 1980 before a decision can be made. I shall be glad to inform you of the outcome after the meeting.
It was decided at a Steering Committee meeting that the General Union, should they have any suggestions, should be asked to submit their views to the Steering Committee. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could advise me who authorizes the present action, that is, for the Working Group to meet with the General Union.
Morever, it was also decided at the Steering Committee that Working Group papers should not be made available to outside bodies. I wonder if the General Union could dis- cuss intelligently the issues involved when they are not given working papers of our Working Group.
I look forward to your reply soon.
Yours sincerely,
ausity
