ANNEX A TO XCC(68)24
Present policy governing the entry from China and Macau of persons of Chinese race not in possession of valid national passports
Entry may be approved in the following cases:
(a) Wives:
An application for a wife to join her husband in the Colony will normally be approved provided that the husband is :
(i) a bona fide resident who has lived in the Colony for
at least two years; and
(ii) able to support his wife and provide accommodations.
(b) Husbands :
An application for a husband to join his wife in the Colony will not normally be approved in the absence of adequate proof of his having previously resided in the Colony or other strong compassionate or humanitarian reasons.
(c) Children:
(i)
Permission to enter the Colony will normally be granted to children under 16 to enable them to join either or both parents or, in the case of orphans, an elder brother or sister, provided that the parent or elder brother or sister as the case may be is :
(A) a bona fide resident who has lived in the Colony
for at least two years; and
(B) able to support them and provide accommodation.
(ii) Permission to enter the Colony will, subject to the
same conditions, likewise normally be granted to single male children aged 16 - 18 and single female children aged 16-21 provided that reasonable cause. for their entry can be shown.
(iii) Permission to enter the Colony will not normally be granted to single male children over the age of 18 - and single female children over the age of 21 unless there are special extenuating circumstances.
(d) Parents:
(i)
An application for parents over 50 years of age to join a son or daughter in the. Colony will normally be approved provided that the son or enter is :
