On the first point we do not know whether it would be
practicable or desirable to try to draft a provision for the
dependent territories similar to that which is proposed for
British Citizenship for transmission of citizenship to people
of the second or subsequent generation born overseas who have
a particularly close and specified connection with the UK.

hope that the provision for acqusition of citizenship by the
child of the second or subsequent generation born overseas of
citizen parents after a period of residence in the territory
of his parents would be cceptable to the dependencies.

7. Finally, there is the very important question of the right
of abode in a denendencvfor a person who acquires the citizen-
ship of the dependent territories by virtue of a connection
with it. The right of abode in denendencies is generally
governed by Immigration Ordinances in individual dependencies.
