British Overseas Citizenship by
virtue of their registration under
Sections other than Section 7(2) of the
British Nationality Act (1948), would
not have a legal right of entry to Hong
Kong, unless they are at the same time
entitled to Chinese Resident status.
However, the Green Paper envisages
that a British Overseas Citizen should
have a right of entry to an existing
dependency. It is intended that those
British Overseas Citizens who derive
their citizenship from their connec-
tions with a particular dependency
would have a Right of Entry to that
dependency. This minority would
therefore gain a right of entry to Hong
Kong.
