The Lord Privy Seal has asked me to reply to your letter of 12 August enclosing your article from the 'South China Morning Post' about the White Paper on British Nationality.

It was very helpful to have your observations which we have

. passed to the Home Office. The publication of the White Paper

gives a good opportunity for all concerned to express their

views on this topic. I know that these will be given very full and careful consideration.

I note that you say that the White Paper is not generally available in Hong Kong. I understand that there are copies in all City and New Territories District Offices, in the UMELCO Office and in the Immigration Department. The Government Information Services will also shortly have copies available for sale.
