8.

Notwithstanding these regulations, a person

who, on the day when these regulations are published in

the Gazette, was carrying on a food business of a factory

canteen in a work place for the use exclusively of the

persons employed therein shall not be prosecuted for so

carrying on such a business without a licence until the

expiry of 6 months from that day.

Explanatory Note

The main object of these regulations is to

regulate canteen facilities in factory buildings for

the provision of meals and drink to workers employed

in any factory in such buildings. Such a factory
