VIETNAMESE BOAT REFUGEES IN HONG KONG
(N.12)
1. Further to my letter of 20 March, the local UNHCR representative telephoned on 28 March to say that he had good news from his authorities in Hong Kong. Out of the blue, they had told him that 97 refugees would be arriving from Hong Kong on or soon after 13 April. Terlin commented that these refugees would fill most of the places in agriculture which his office had expended much effort in identifying. The MFA are also pleased that a larger number of volunteers have now come forward.
