We do not see any need for hurry in dealing with this; nor have China Resources or their intermediary suggested any. No leases will have to be issued until the end of this year.

David Akers-Jones, who has been the only contact with Mr. Wu, has just gone on leave and will not be back until early July. Mr. Wu has been told that he should not expect any developments before then.

Meanwhile, we are looking hard at the implications and the ways in which we might respond. This involves another look at the legal problems of what leases might conceivably be issued and what authority would be needed for different versions. We will of course be in touch with you before taking any significant further step.
