I have minuted about Sir M MacLehose's brief stop-over in London in October.

1.

2. In addition, he will be here from 2-6 November to address the General Council of British Shipping. He will also attend some of the functions for the visit to Britain of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.

3. You may wish, when in Hong Kong, to have a word about talks with the Governor in the FCO in this period. 'Operation Champion' should have ben implemented by then and we will need to take stock of its first impact.
