Miss Beckett spoke to me about Hong Kong Slegram No 1680. Your predecessor in fact made all the io las regids extending legislation to the dependent territories Mr Rushford is, in any case, tied up at the Antigua Constitutional Conference at Lancaster House.

The Iran (Trading Sanctions) Order 1980 extends to all the dependent territories, including Hong Kong. The Export of Goods (Control) (Iran Sanctions) Order 1980 only applies, of course, to the UK. However, parallel action was taken in each of the dependent territories.

The action taken in Hong Kong is most conveniently set out in the Memorandum for the Executive Council XCC (80) 81 to which are attached copies of the relevant legislation.

This is at folio 18A on HKK 020/4 attached.
