ARTICLES 25 AND 46 OF THE EUROPEAN CONVENTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS: INDIVIDUAL PETITION AND JURISDICTION OF THE COURT

1. I attach the drafts of letters to the Secretary General renewing the Article 25 and Article 46 declarations for the following territories:

Belize

Solomon Islands

British Virgin Islands

Cayman Islands

Gilbert Islands

I should be grateful if you would arrange for these to be delivered to the Secretariat. The territories concerned have accepted in full knowledge of the implications.

2. Declarations were registered in August 1976 for:

Bermuda

Falkland Islands

Gibraltar

St Helena

Tuvalu

St Lucia

Guernsey

Jersey

Of the Dependent Territories to whom the Convention has been extended, there will now remain only Montserrat and the Turks and Caicos Islands who have not yet accepted renewal of Articles 25 and 46. Montserrat are waiting for Tyrer: they have
