Once the continuity of medical certificates is broken, however, the officer will receive no pay until either he returns to work or the strike ends, when normal rules will apply. Uncertificated sick leave may be allowed in the same way as certificated sick leave, provided the officer signs a statement that he was unfit for duty for the period in question.

SIT-INS

A sit-in will be regarded as an unauthorised absence and consequently will be unpaid.

PICKETING

10. Peaceful and orderly picketing is lawful but a serious view will be taken of any attempts at intimidation and disciplinary action may be taken against those responsible. Staff who are prepared to work normally should not allow themselves to be deterred by the presence of pickets from entering their offices and carrying out their duties. In general, interference by pickets will not be accepted as a legitimate excuse for non-attendance.
