RESETTLEMENT OF BOAT PLOPLE

I attach copies of a letter from Mr Ben T Ford MP to Lord Coronwy-Roberts and its enclosure.

I should be grateful if you would provide me with a brief on the Hong Kong Government's policy towards the resettlement of persons living on boats in Typhoon Shelters and the events of 7 January which culminated in the arrest of several tens of boat people from Yau lei Tei Typhoon Chelter, in order that I may brief the finister and draft a reply to hr Ford.
