On 26th day of rebruary 1979 you Petitioner applied by

letter to the Director of Immigrstion of Hong Kong for permission

to remain in this Colony and wrote as follows :

Dear Sir,

re: CHEUNG Sing Ying, UE.

I came to Hong Kong from China mainland via Lo wu, N.T., Kowloon on the strength of an "Exit-Permit (No. 0694046 and your ref: AW349454) issued by the Government of the Peoples' Republic of China and arrived at this Colony on 22nd January 1979.

I am permitted to remain here until 21st March 1979. I am now applying to you for permission to remain here unconditionally on the following grounds

My

Fung (and Mr. TAO Sin Fung (otherwise spelt as DOO Sin

)) is a bona-fide permanent resident of Hong Kong, he is holding HKIC No.B307374 issued on 8-7-1962. He is carrying

on business at Room 1104 Pioneer Building, No.748A Nathan Road Kowloon under the firm name of "Suntex Trading Company" ( A). He is a tax payer and is evidenced by receipts and notes issued by the Inland Revenue Department (annexed herewith 2 copies

in photostatic).

(2) My husband and I were married lawfully in Shanghai, China on 21-10-1956. Marriage Certificate of such was issued by the Government of the Peoples' kepublic of China. Notice of Intended kegistered Marriage was given on 16-2-1979 at the Kowloon Marriage

Registry under Notice No.448961 of even date.

Prior to my departure from China I have sold all of my interest, chattels and things and I have now connection whatsoever

with China mainland. The sole purpose of my coming to Hong Kong is to rejoin my husband which took me a considerable time and suffered great hardship before I was allowed to leave China.

In the matters and facts herein before presented, I shall be much obliged if my this humble application is to be entertained favourably on its individual merits and compassionate grounds and by nature it is entitled.

Enclosed herewith please find a letter of guarantee executed and signed by my husband together with "Exit-Permit" and Forms ID91 and 93b duly completed and signed for the necessary formalities,
