Ma Tau Wei Detention Centre (managed by the Prisons Dert.)

General condition:

The centre itself. is a single-

storey reinforced concrete building with a proper drainage system and flushing toilet facilities.

All the refugees live in cubicles or on the verandahs inside the centre. The centre is slightly overcrowded but is kept in a clean condition. No infestation of

pests has been cbserved and the general condition

of the centre is satisfactory.

provided by the Urban Services Department.

Yau Ma Tei Landing Point (managed by the Prisons Department)

2) General condition: This landing point serves as a

temporary shelter for refugees undergoing immigration procedures. Overcrowding is a serious problem !from - time to time, but depends on the number of refugees arriving. In general, this centre is in a clean state

and no infestation of pests has been observed.

Surface channels: There is no proper drainage system and surface water discharges directly into the sea.

Toilet facilities: 20 double-compartment dry latrines are provided by the Urban Services Department and

are kept in a clean state.
