Estimate of expenditure

76.

It is proposed that all the expenditure falling to the Hong Kong Government in respect of refugees should be met from a single subhead with effect from 1st April 1979 so that the total costs can be easily identified. The total estimated expenditure in 1979-80 is as follows -

(a) maintenance of a daily

average of 10, 000 refugees, at $6 a day

(b) salary cost for the reserve

of supernumerary posts to be created under Head 35

Government Secretariat

(c) pay and allowances for Civil Aid Services personnel

(d) provision of services to the .:: U.N.H.C.R. camp site at

Kai Tak
