9th January 1979

I attach, as promised, the English texts of news stories relating to refugees which have been broadcast in our Vietnamese language service during the past week. I have not included the texts of stories used in our Chinese language bulletins, partly because these were substantially the same as in Vietnamese and partly because I take it that our Chinese broadcasts could be monitored without difficulty in Hong Kong since all of our Cantonese news bulletins and one of our daily Mandarin bulletins are relayed by Radio Hong Kong as part of its normal domestic service.

I will send you a further batch of material during the course of the next few days covering our broadcasts between now and the end of the week. I trust that this arrangement will be of some assistance to you.

Yours sincerely,

Ва

(L.P. Breen)
