has been granted permission to remain
in Hong Kong by the Director of Immigration
for a period of not more than 180 days,
and is in possession of a valid travel
document bearing the appropriate visa
issued by a competent authority or of
an official document of identity
indicating that he normally lives outside
Hong Kong;.

Explanatory Note
These regulations make various amendments to
the Registration of Persons Regulations, to make their
application and enforcement more effective.
The amendments in regulation 3 clarify the
obligations to register. Persons born in Hong Kong are
required to register as well as those who enter Hong
Kong, but members of a family up to the age of 18
years will have to be registered by the head of the
family.
The amendments in regulation 4 set out in
greater detail the particulars to be furnished by
applicants for registration.
