NOW CHINA LINKS

A scheduled container lorry service between Hong Kong and Guangzhou (Canton) has begun operating. The first two lorries, loaded with 300 television sets, went to China via the border pessing point at Man Kam To in the New Territories. The iorries brought back Chinese electrical products.

Meanwhile, the local press, quoting the New China Nows Agency, reported that the Civil Aviation Administration of China will so mt twice-weekly charter flights from Hong Kong to Hangzhou (Hongchow) and Nanjing (Nanking) in the second quarter of th year. A cherter flight and a regular hovercraft soprice between Hong Kong and Guangzhou are already in operation. A through train service between the two places will be introduced soon.

SKYLUCK: NO EPIDEMIC

Hong Kong's Port Hemith officials are keeping a close watch on hygiene conditions on the refugee ship, "Skyluck", after 13 children from the ship were admitted to hospital with mesales. There is, however, no evidence of an epidemic of messles on board the chip, which has been anchored off Lamma Island with its human cargo of 2,648 Vietnamese since February S. The Hong Kong Government continues to send provisions of food, fresh water, medical and other essential supplies to the ship, while Fort Health officials are in close touch with a medical team aboard.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to grouse public attention, more than 100 refugees from the "kyluck" dived overboard to swim ashore. They were rounded up by the police and later returned to the ship, except two who had to be taken to hospital suffering from exhaustion.

Miss Ching, who lost her eyesight when she was six months old, has been a dedicated worker in training the blind. Despite her disability, she finished her secondary education in Hong Kong and spent three years on a scholarship in the United States studying teaching for the blind.
