airline of China and the designated airline of the
United Kingdom will provide two-thirds and one-third
of the total capacity respectively. The capacity and
frequency so agreed will be subject to the approval of
both aeronautical authorities.
3. The airline designated by China may operate scheduled
services between Peking and Hong Kong. Such services
may not commence earlier than the date on which services
on the route between London and Peking' begin in accordance
with the Confidential Memorandum of Understanding concerning
that route. As long as the designated airline of the
United Kingdom routes its London-Peking services via
Hong Kong the said airline may operate five such services
per week using B707s or aircraft of equivalent capacity.
Frovision for services between Hong Kong and Peking after
the designated airline of the United Kingdom ceases to route
its London-Peking services via Hong Kong is made in
paragraph 5 below.
4.
The airline designated by China may also operate
scheduled services between Hong Kong and four Chinese cities
in addition to Peking and Shanghai. The aeronautical
authorities of China will notify the aeronautical authorities
of the United Kingdom of each city to be served, the type of
aircraft to be used and the frequency to be adopted by their
airline not less than three months before the proposed date of
introduction of each service.
