The designated airline of the United Kingdom may
start the operation of the agreed services with 2 x B747s a
week between London and Peking from 1 April 1980, or from
the date on which Peking Capital Airport is ready for the
operation of any wide-bodied aircraft, whichever is the
later. However, in the operation of these services it may
not make available more than 300 seats a week in each
direction for passengers to or from Peking.
3. The airline designated by China under Article 3 of the
Agreement may start the operation of the agreed services
with either 2 x B707s or 2 x B747s a week between Peking
and London, from 1 April 1980, or from the date on which
Peking Capital Airport is ready for the operation of any
wide-bodied aircraft, whichever is the later. However, if
the said airline operates B747s it may not make available
more than 300 seats a week in each direction to or from
London in the operation of these services.
4.
Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraphs 2 and 3
above the aeronautical authorities of the United Kingdom and
China may jointly decide to increase the number of seats to
be made available and/or the frequency of service.
5. The aeronautical authorities of the United Kingdom will
give not less than nine months' notice in writing to the
aeronautical authorities of China of the date on which the
