I refer to the Agreement between the Government of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the
People's Republic of China relating to Civil Air Transport,
initialled on 26 July 1979, at Peking, and to the understandings recorded
in confidential memoranda signed on the same date. I propose that in
implementing the provisions of the Agreement and the understandings
referred to above the following arrangements be applied:
(1) The appropriate authorities of each party in the
territory of the other party will issue entry visas good for
a single journey in three months to the staff members and
their accompanying families of the representative office of
the designated airline of the other party to be stationed in
the territory of the first party. After their entry into the
territory of the first party, the visa agency of that party
will issue them exit and entry visas valid for twelve months
and good for repeated journeys.
(2) The designated airline of each party will anually
submit to the Embassy of the other party a copy of the namelist of
all the crew members to be assigned for operating the agreed
