On 23rd September 1975, having considered memorandum XCR(75)180, Members advised and the Acting Governor ordered that under regulation 10 of the Ferries Regulations (Chapter 104), approval should be given for the Colonial Secretary to grant a licence to the Hop Shing Kung Ferry Company to operate ferry services between Shau Kei Wan, Rennie's Mill and Hang Hau for a period of three years, from 1st December 1975, on the terms and conditions set out in the draft licence at Annex B to the memorandum.

This licence expired on 1st December 1978 and the Company has applied for it to be renewed for a further three years. In addition the Company also has applied for a fare revision.
