Extension of the licence, if approved, is not expected to generate any public reaction as the status quo will be maintained and the present service has proved satisfactory.
Advice Sought

Members are asked to advise whether approval should be given, under regulation 4 of the Ferries Regulations (Chapter 104, subsidiary legislation), for the Commissioner for Transport to extend the licence now granted to the Eastern Ferry Company and due to expire on 31st August 1979 for a period of 16 months from 1st September 1979 to 31st December 1980 on the terms and conditions set out in the draft at Annex A.
