TO
Make provision for the conversion of certain Crown
leases of land in the New Territories to leases of
indeterminate term.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
Short title.
Interpretation.
1.
This Ordinance may be cited as the New Territories (Crown Leases) Ordinance 1980.
2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires-
"indefinite term" means a term commencing on the
date stated in the specified Crown lease and continuing in force indefinitely unless and
until such lease is determined or forfeited
in accordance with--
(a) the terms and conditions of the lease; or
(b) any provision of law applicable thereto;
or the land demised by such lease is resumed under
the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance;
"lot" means any piece or parcel of ground demised
under a Crown lease;
"section" means any portion of a lot which has been-

assigned or alienated for the whole of the
term created by the Crown lease of the lot; or
declared to have been divided or severed
from the remainder of the lot, by or under
