Thank you very much for your letter of 30 June which was waiting for me when I returned from the Gilbert Islands (Kiribati as we must now call it) Independence Celebrations

My responsibilities for Hong Kong are keeping me in close touch with South East Asia - indeed my next commitment is to attend the Indo-China Refugee Conference which Dr Waldheim has convened in Geneva later this week.

I am very much looking forward to visiting Hong Kong and seeing you again. It looks as though I may be able to

do this towards the end of September.
