Sir Sze-yuen Chung CBE JP:

Engineer and Company Director. Born

1917 in Hong Kong. On Exco since 1972. A self-made man who will succeed Sir Y K Kan as Senior Unofficial Member of Exco, when the

latter retires. The prime mover behind the setting up of the very successful Hong Kong Polytechnic.

Mr Eric Ho JP: Secretary for Social Services since 1977, responsible

for social welfare and education. Born 1927. Entered Hong Kong Government Service in 1957. Has extensive government experience. His wife, Mrs Grace Ho, is an appointed Urban Councillor.

Mr L M Davies CMG OBE JP: Secretary for Security responsible for police, immigration, prisons and liaison with HM Armed Services since 1974. Born 1922. Previously served in Gold Coast, Western Pacific and Bahamas. Came to Hong Kong in 1973. Responsible for dealing with both Vietnamese refugees and Chinese immigration.

Mr David Ford MVO OBE JP: Secretary for Information. Born 1935. Army officer seconded to Hong Kong Government in 1967. Joined Hong Kong Government 1968. Seconded to Northern Ireland Office 1977-78.

Mr Roy Henry MVO OBE QPM CPM: Commissioner of Police since March 1977. Born 1927. Served previously in Malaya, Sarawak and Fiji.

Mr A de O Sales CBE JP:

appointed in 1957. Born in international sport.

Mrs Elsie Elliott CBE: Elected Urban Councillor since 1963. Most outspoken critic of Hong Kong Government and a noted champion of the underdog. Although her criticisms frequently have at least a degree of justification, their effectiveness is often lost because of her tendency to exaggerate and her negligence over checking facts.
