The attached sheets are used for checking entry and departure, declaring households and registering items brought along by the visitor. Compatriots

in Hong Kong and Macau who visit China should fill in these sheets before entering the country (there are two copies to each page, one large and one small). On entering China, these papers, together with the "home-visit permit", should be produced for verification at the border check-points. After verification, the small copy of the attached sheets will be tom off

and the "home-visit permit" will be stamped for the journey. On arrival at the destination or place of transit, the visitor should either in person

or through

relatives take the "home-visit permit" and the attached

sheets to the local Public Security Bureau or the people's commune on the same day to declare household. The same procedure is to be repeated before

cancel the visitor leaves-this time to, the household. On leaving China, the attached sheets should be given to the border check-points while the

"home-visit permit" will be used for departure purpose. When a visitor has

used up the attached sheets, he may obtain new ones from China Travels in Hong Kong and Lacau or the border check-points.

What are the procedures for bringing children into China?

Hong Kong and Macau compatriots who visit China with children under the age of 12 do not need separate "home-visit permits" for their children. All they have to do is to fill in the children's column on the attached sheet the names, sexes and ages of the children. Those who do not bring

children with them should draw a line across this column to indicate so. However, children under the age of 12 travelling alone must apply for

"home-visit permits".

How much does a "Home-visit permit" cost? Once such permits are used, will people still be charged for "home-visit recommendation letters"? Home-visit permits cost $12 per copy. Service charge for application procedures is fixed by China Travels in Hong Kong and Macau. (From what the reporter understands, the charge is $10.)

After the "home-visit permit" is put to use, "letters of recommendation

will cost $3 per copy.
