ANNUAL CONFERENCE

1. May I refer you to my minutes of 4 and 23 October requesting briefs for the above Conference.

2. I should be grateful if you would arrange for any significant material for up-dating of the unclassified briefs for UK delegates, and of the classified briefs for the leader of the UK delegation and his adviser, to be sent to me by 20 November.

We will arrange to send details to Wellington, if necessary by telegram.

3. Could you also ensure that between 20 November and 1 December, any relevant telegrams, guidances etc are repeated to Wellington, for the information of the UK delegation leader (who will now be Mr Blaker). Telegrams can be endorsed "For UKDEL". Mr Blaker will be speaking in the sessions on "The Refugee Problem" on 27 November and on "Africa South of the Sahara" on 28 November. It will be particularly important to ensure that he is up-to-date on Rhodesia and also on Namibia.
