1. You asked about the constitution of the Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board.

It was set up by Sir Dennis Greenhill in 1969. His despatch of 9 January 1970 to all Governors gives the reasons for its establish- ment and details of its membership (copy attached).

3. At their first meeting in October 1969 the Board agreed its terms of reference. These are repeated in the agenda of each meeting of the Board. I attach a copy.

4. Reference is made to the DTSAB in Volume 8 of DSP Paragraph 3.6.1, Paragraph 4.8.5 and Annex 4 (copies attached).

making out a case for winding up the Board. never issued, since both the PUS and the then Chief Clerk (Sir Curtis Keeble) were in favour of retaining the Board. The final decision from the PUS was that "the DTSAB still had some steam in it and that they should review the question again after the next meeting", ie the meeting arranged for 4 June.
