1. I should be grateful if you would arrange for the preparation of an up-to-date job description of the post of Governor of Belize. This will form part of the briefs which will be dis- tributed to members of the Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board for its forthcoming meeting. One of the items on the Board's agenda will be the selection of a successor to Mr McEntee.

I attach a copy of the job description prepared for use in 1975. For the sake of uniformity with other job descriptions, it would be helpful if the following headings could be used:

(a) background (Constitutional and Political Position

of the Territory)

(b) hesources Controlled by the Territory

(c) pecurity (Internal and External Problems)

2. The Governor

(a) Discretion for Executive Decision

(b) Involvement in the Judicial Process

(c) Special Qualities Required

It would be very helpful if I could have the new job des- cription not later than 2 April.
