1. As stated in Brief No.1, Mr P D McEntee will complete his three year term as Governor in June 1979.

2. A General Election is due in Belize around the end of

November. Mr McEntee has offered to remain as Governor until

after the election and is willing if necessary to stay on until January or February 1980, in order to see the new Government through its first few difficult weeks. ience and local knowledge would be particularly useful at this

be extended until the end of 1979 or to early 1980, the exact date to depend on the local political circumstances.
