FOLLOW UP TO DEPENDENT TERRITORIES SENIOR APPOINTMENTS BOARD (DTSAB)

1. I have discussed with Mr McLaren and Mr Beamish the best way to proceed in following up the DTSAB's decisions, given the complication of the need for the DS No.1 Board to approve the promotion of Mr Hunt and Mr Hennessy. We have decided that the best thing to do would be to suspend action on everything until after the No.1 Board has met.

2. I should be grateful therefore if you could arrange with POD for you to be informed as soon as the Board has met and endorsed the promotions. In the meantime, would you please consider whether we need to do anything about the extension of Mr McEntee's appointment. It was our understanding that he himself was fully aware that his appointment was going to be extended, and that all the rest was pure formality. This being so, there is no real reason why it should not wait to be dealt with at the same time as all the rest.

Mr Quantrill

I spoke to Miss Taylor about this on Friday. The No 1 Board is scheduled for 12 July and she will let me know if this changes for any reason. On 13 July we shall need to co-ordinate our submissions through the PUS's office so that they travel in parallel to Mr Hurd and then to the Private

Office.
