You have recorded in your minute of 12 July Mr Ridley's disappointment that he was not consulted about the recommendation to extend till the end of this year the present appointment of the Governor and Commander in Chief of Belize.
2.
It is of course the usual procedure in senior appointments that they should be brought to the attention of the Minister of State responsible for Administration (Mr Hurd) at an early stage so that he may have an opportunity to consult his Ministerial colleagues. I am sorry that,
I am sorry that, since the extension of Mr McEntee's appointment was seen as a mere formality, we omitted to follow the usual procedure.
3. We shall ensure that future recommendations are cleared in the proper way.
